A Message from The General Manager
Dear Member,
What a strong year it has been for WBUR. Once again, the station’s news coverage received top honors from the Associated Press and Radio and Television News Directors’ Association. Car Talk celebrated it’s 20th anniversary on National Public Radio (and 30thon WBUR). And veteran broadcast journalist David Boeri joined WBUR as host of Radio Boston, the exciting new weekly local program we will launch in September.
None of this would be possible—the NPR affiliation, the WBUR national shows, the new local initiatives—without the generous support of listeners like you. WBUR has employed so many themes to express that partnership over the years. Perhaps it is best said that you and we really do this important work together.
As a reflection of that partnership, we have created the eighth edition of WBUR’s member magazine, Airwaves. Hopefully, it reflects that WBUR is in a good place, providing an ever-increasing and important service in the Boston media landscape.
Again, we have you to thank as we look to WBUR’s current work and to the many exciting projects we have planned for our listeners in the coming year. Please continue to support the work of NPR and of WBUR in Boston by donating today.
With appreciation and all best wishes.
Paul La Camera
